Hot, Hot Summer

So it has been a very hot summer.  It seems as if for most of the summer the highs have been in the mid to upper 90's while breaking triple digits at least once or twice a week.  You add some humidity to the pot and it feels like you are burning up once your skin hits the light of the sun. So it goes as no surprise that with the added heat comes substantial personal swampiness.  To counteract the feeling we do things like take more showers.  We may lather on the deodorant a bit heavier as well.  I may have done both.

Well, in the process I seem to have run through my old standby deodorant / antiperspirant.  That's OK, because I have been buying the same stuff for years.  I went to Target and begun what should be quick pickup.  I found the aisle I needed and then looked right that the Old Spice products.  There are a lot of different choices and I am very particular about what I use.

I picked up my Pure Sport scent and noticed it had a new design.  It looked right, but I wasn't sure.  It said that it was the same great product just with a new package.  So I decided that maybe I should scan the product with Bawte since if it was the same stuff maybe Bawte would show me the old package design and then I'd be able to determine if it was the right stuff.  So I did it.  I scanned the UPC and what came back said that it was stick deodorant.  Well that's not what I want.  That stick stuff feels like rubbing dry soap on your skin.  No thanks.

I like that creamy stuff that oozes out of the tiny little holes at the top.  It applies so much easier and I feel like its provides better coverage.  OK, now that you all know waaaay too much about about a particular component of my hygiene, I'll move on with my story.  So with Bawte's Jedi power, it helped me realize that 'These aren't the droids you're looking for'.  So I went looking again.  Two shelves higher, BAM! exactly the droids I was looking for.  I snagged two new sticks and in the process accomplished two things.  1) I found a new use for Bawte and 2) I now have record of what I buy.

Let me hit #1 again.  The packaging of this product is small and the labels are even smaller.  The amount of info that can be crammed onto that Old Spice product while still keeping it visually appealing is quite meager.  So Bawte can act as a supplemental information source, which is something I didn't think of as a use about until I needed it.  As they say, "Necessity is the mother of all invention."  Of course I am not sure who "they" are.  I do, however, know that the first quote was by Obi-Wan.
